Shipping Policy |
|
| |
I keep my shipping rates as
reasonable as possible. Shipping is in addition to the cost of an item and
must be included with every payment. Please keep in mind that shipping
includes cost of packaging materials and shipping supplies, in addition to
the actual postage.
I cannot assume
responsibility for your shipment once I send it. I have had very little
problem with the thousands and thousands of packages I've shipped. But you
never know. You can choose to purchase insurance
to cover your shipment for a small additional charge. If you don't like to
take risks I recommend it, especially on higher priced items. |

Delivery Time |

My super fast shipping will keep
the transaction speedy, I promise you. I make every attempt to ship within
24 hours of receiving your payment (that's business days, I do try to have
a life.) There are some exceptions but they don't happen very often.

Each item fits into one of four
Shipping Categories. The shipping category is shown in the item
description. |

Double disc sets that are in
heavier cases |

NOTE: all shipments are
in a safe, padded bubble wrap mailer |

Shipping is based on a rate for
your first disc or set, and then a flat rate for each additional disc or set
in your order. A few large sets have an additional shipping charge and
this is noted where ever the shipping category is given.
The first chart shows the rate for the first disc in your shipment.
Find the shipping cost for the disc with the highest number shipping
category in your order . Then add the rate for
additional items for each additional item in your order.
For example, if your order includes 3 discs, one from shipping category 3
and two from shipping category 1, the rate for the first disc in your order
is the category 3 rate, or $4.25 for Domestic First Class. |

A few sets are very large or
heavier than others. These sets cost me more to ship, and therefore
cost more than standard shipping rates. Any additional shipping
costs are noted with an item beside the shipping category number. |

We
offer a significant discount when your buy multiple items.
HOWEVER, To get the shipping
discounted rate for multiple items, you MUST PAY IN ONE TRANSACTION if you are paying with PAYPAL
or Credit Card. |

Shipping Methods and
Recommendations |

First Class
(U.S. ONLY) |
Generally reliable and
efficient. Cross country shipping averages 3-5 days (not guaranteed, I
can't control this).
The Post Office only offers First Class for shipments of 13 ounces or less.

Priority
(U.S. ONLY) |
I strongly discourage Priority
on shipments of three or less items. Priority is supposed to be the
Post Office's premium service. But my experience is that it's more expensive
than First Class, and no better. Packages often take as long or longer
than first class to be delivered, especially since 9/11.
I recommend First Class with Insurance as a much better deal for less money.
The Post Office does not offer First Class for shipments of more than 13
ounces. Therefore, a shipment of four or more items, or for one item
in Shipping Category 4, must automatically go Priority.

Media Mail
(U.S. ONLY) |
I offer Media Mail on large
shipments to give you an option to get a discount on shipping costs.
I've used media mail for years with no notable problems. Delivery
times are a few days longer.
Medial Mail will automatically add insurance to your shipment, which I
require because of the shipment's larger value. |

Generally reliable.
I've shipped thousands of packages with little problems. Shipping
arrival times are generally within 2 weeks, often sooner. This depends
on customs and service in your country. |

International Shipping
Without Cases |

I offer shipping
without cases to International customers (excluding Canada & Mexico,),
to reduce shipping costs. I do not ship without cases to the
U.S., Canada or Mexico because the savings are not significant.

Not all discs are eligible to ship without
cases. Discs in cardboard sleeves where the artwork is incorporated in
the sleeve, and box sets are examples of items that cannot be shipped
without cases.
Because not all discs can be shipped this way, I cannot program this
website so that the shipping rate can automatically be calculated for discs
shipped without cases.
If you are interested in shipping without cases, please e-mail me at

sure to tell me the discs in your order, and the country you are in.
I will quote you the shipping rate for your order.
To check out on this site and have discs shipped without cases:
1. Get a confirmed shipping quote from me by e-mail
2. Check out normally on the site
3. In the special instructions box just after
you choose your payment method, indicate that you want shipping without
cases. YOU MUST DO THIS, EVEN IF YOU'VE TOLD ME BY E-MAIL.
4. Complete the order, paying the full shipping charges.
If you pay by Paypal or a Credit Card, I will refund you the
savings for shipping without cases that I quoted by e-mail.
If you are mailing payment, just adjust the shipping charge from the
site to match the shipping amount that I gave you by e-mail and pay the
adjusted amount. |

Insurance |
|
| |
I offer
insurance at a lower rate than offered by the U.S. Postal Service.
Insurance is an option on all shipments, including International shipments.
Insurance will pay for the value of your shipment if it is lost during
shipping.
Although
insurance is optional,
I strongly recommend insurance on expensive items.
I cannot
afford to, and will not be able to reimburse for that rare item lost in
shipping. The small extra cost worth the piece of mind that you are
covered. Paying for insurance is totally up to you.
Insurance rates on the chart below are per $100 in coverage. If your order is
more than $100, the insurance rate will be adjusted to cover your whole
shipment. For example, if your order totals $149.00 and you live
in the U.S. insurance would cost $2.70 (which is up to $200 in coverage.)

I insure through a private
insurance carrier, Package In-Transit Coverage, which offers better rates
and service than the U.S. Post Office They also allow me to offer
insurance to International customers.
Package In-Transit Coverage has been in the package insurance business since
1989 and has 10+ years of insurance application and claims processing
experience. Package In-Transit Coverage has been a partner of the United
States Postal Service for years and is used by some of the largest mail
order companies in the country.
Please note that your
package will not come with an insurance stamp on the outside.
Package In-Transit advises us NOT to note insurance on the outside of our
packages, as these stamps are looked for by thieves to identify the more
valuable parcels, thereby making your shipment more vulnerable to theft.
SPECIAL NOTE: The insurance amount does not effect the value
of the package, so you will
never have an issue with customs fees when receiving International
shipments.
